Estate Planning for Divorced Parents

As a divorced parent, you have unique concerns about what would happen to your children if you were no longer around to take care of them. But do you know what would actually happen in that situation?

You may not realize it, but without proper planning, your assets are likely to end up in the hands of your ex. In fact, we recently handled the estate of a young, divorced parent who left behind a three-year-old daughter. What he didn’t leave behind: A will or any other estate planning documents.

As a result, everything went to his daughter. But a three-year-old can’t exactly manage her own inheritance, so the court appointed someone to manage the money for the child. And guess who that was? The ex-wife with whom he had been in a bitter custody battle.

To find out how to make sure your assets would be protected for your child – and not end up with your ex – watch the free webinar replay.
